With Corbo Group, a Former School Building Becomes a Smart Home

In Mapello, where Corbo Group has already delivered an innovative and sustainable educational campus, a new privately led urban regeneration project is now taking shape.
Corbo Group is undertaking a residential property development involving a former school building acquired through a property exchange agreement as part of the contract for the redevelopment of the “Dante Alighieri” Primary School.
The existing building will be completely demolished and rebuilt to create a new residential development featuring smart homes designed around advanced technology and a customer-focused approach.

The project is being developed with the support of an architectural and engineering practice based in Merano, using Building Information Modelling (BIM). This digital approach integrates architectural, structural and building services design into a single coordinated environment, reducing the potential for errors and improving control over the development process.

At the same time, 4D planning links the digital model to the construction schedule, enabling more effective project coordination and progress monitoring.
Prospective buyers will also have access to a virtual tour, allowing them to explore their future apartment before construction begins. This provides greater transparency and predictability throughout the purchasing process, reflecting an increasingly important standard in residential property development.

“Urban regeneration also means transforming disused buildings into energy-efficient homes, designed using digital technologies and presented in a way that buyers can clearly understand,” says Roberto Corbo, President of Corbo Group.

The project schedule envisages completion and handover within approximately eight months, supported by a management approach that prioritises coordination and careful planning.
This reflects Corbo Group’s commitment to detailed construction planning and the integration of innovative technologies throughout the development process.
